Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 July 2026 · Publisher: PikScan · App: QuickScan (Android)

QuickScan is a document scanning app designed to run locally on your device. This policy explains what is processed, what is not, and how ads work.

1. Controller

PikScan (publisher of QuickScan). Contact: support@pikscan.com. Website: quickscan.pikscan.com.

2. No account, no PikScan cloud

  • QuickScan does not create a PikScan user account.
  • Your scans, images, PDFs and OCR text are stored on your phone (app local storage).
  • PikScan does not receive the content of your documents and does not run a sync cloud for QuickScan.

3. Data processed on device

On your device only, the app may store:

  • scanned or imported images and files;
  • metadata you enter (title, category, notes, dates);
  • text from on-device OCR;
  • preferences (language, biometric lock if enabled).

OCR uses on-device engines (including Google ML Kit). Image processing for text recognition runs locally.

4. Permissions

  • Camera: to scan documents.
  • Storage / files: to import or export files as allowed by the OS.
  • Biometrics (optional): if you enable the app lock.
  • Internet: for AdMob ads and optional app version checks.

5. Advertising (Google AdMob)

QuickScan is free and funded by ads via Google AdMob (banners, interstitials, occasional rewarded video, e.g. before some OCR actions).

Google may process advertising IDs and technical data under Google’s policies. You can limit ad personalization in Android settings.

Google Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

6. App updates

The app may request a public version JSON on quickscan.pikscan.com to suggest updates. That request does not include your document contents.

7. Sharing you initiate

When you export or share a PDF, image or text, the file leaves the app through Android’s share sheet. That is under your control.

8. Retention and deletion

Local data remains until you delete it in-app or uninstall. Uninstalling QuickScan typically removes app data from the device.

9. Children

The app is not directed to children under 16 (or the applicable digital age of consent).

10. Your rights

Because PikScan does not hold your documents, access/erasure mainly concerns data on your device and ad processing by Google. Questions: support@pikscan.com.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. The date above is authoritative. Continued use after posting means you acknowledge material changes described here.
