On-Device OCR Without Uploading to the Cloud

QuickScan is a document scanner with on-device OCR (Google ML Kit): text is read on the Android or iPhone, and images are not sent to PikScan.

What on-device OCR means

Optical character recognition (OCR) turns a photo of a page into selectable or searchable text. In QuickScan, that step runs locally with ML Kit after you capture and crop the document.

Scan, read, then export

  • Multi-page capture up to 20 pages with edge correction
  • OCR on the device (no PikScan OCR server)
  • Folders and recents for organization
  • PDF or JPG export from the phone

Privacy-minded document scanning

Local OCR suits contracts, IDs for personal archives, invoices, and notes you prefer not to send to a third-party scan cloud by default. Core scanning and storage do not require a PikScan account.

Internet use

AdMob ads and Play Store updates may need a connection. Document capture, OCR, and local library storage do not depend on a PikScan cloud sync.
